Furyk 8546352 300x223 Furyk on the riseJim Furyk (22/1 with Betfred to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational) has moved up three places to sixth in the world rankings following his long-awaited win on the PGA Tour.

The 39-year-old claimed victory in the Transitions Championship last weekend, which was his first win in the US since July 2007.

The two-time US Open winner has leaped above Ian Poulter (28/1 in the Masters w/o Woods market) in the rankings with that success, with the Englishman slipping to seventh.

Tiger Woods, who returns to action at next month’s Masters, remains comfortably at the top of the standings ahead of the first major of 2010, with fellow Americans Steve Stricker and Phil Mickelson second and third respectively.

European hopes of victory at Augusta are strengthened by having nine players in the top 20, with three Englishmen in the top ten – Poulter, Lee Westwood and Paul Casey.

Be sure to keep a regular check on Betfred’s golf betting markets in the run up to the Masters – which starts on April 8.
